Our approach to body art

At Veritro, we treat every tattoo as a collaboration between artist and client. Whether you arrive with a detailed sketch or just the seed of an idea, our team takes the time to understand what you're looking for and how to translate that onto skin. We work across a wide spectrum of styles, from delicate fine-line pieces to bold traditional work and large-scale compositions.

Our centrally located studio on Portage Avenue provides a comfortable, professional environment for the tattooing process. We maintain strict hygiene standards and use quality equipment to ensure both safety and lasting results. Each service we offer reflects our commitment to the craft and to the people who trust us with their ideas.

Below you'll find detailed information about each of our services. If you have questions about what might work for your project, we're always happy to discuss options during a consultation.

Our services

From first concept to finished piece, here's what we do.

Custom tattoos

Custom work is the heart of what we do. Our artists create original designs tailored to your ideas, preferences, and body placement. The process begins with a conversation about your concept, followed by sketching and refinement until the design feels right. This service suits anyone who wants a one-of-a-kind piece that holds personal meaning.

Cover-up tattoos

Cover-up work requires careful planning to transform an existing tattoo into something new. Our artists assess the original piece—its size, color saturation, and placement—then develop a design that works with or disguises what's already there. This service is for anyone looking to rework old ink they've outgrown or simply want to change.

Miniature tattoos

Small-scale tattoos demand precision and a steady hand. We create delicate, detailed pieces that work within limited space while maintaining clarity over time. Miniature tattoos are well-suited for first-time clients, subtle placements, or anyone drawn to understated body art that carries quiet significance.

Design development

Not ready to commit to ink? Our design development service lets you work with an artist to create and refine artwork before scheduling your tattoo session. This collaborative process gives you time to see the design on paper, request adjustments, and feel confident about the final concept. It's especially helpful for complex or large-scale projects.

Tattoo touch-ups

Over time, tattoos can fade or blur, particularly in areas with frequent sun exposure or movement. Our touch-up service refreshes existing work to restore its original vibrancy and sharpness. We touch up tattoos done at Veritro as well as work from other studios, bringing new life to pieces that have aged.

Artist consultation

A consultation is a no-pressure opportunity to discuss your ideas with one of our artists. During this meeting, we talk through your concept, recommend suitable styles and placements, and answer any questions about the process. Consultations help ensure that both you and your artist are aligned before any work begins.

Piercing

In addition to tattoos, we offer professional piercing services performed with sterile, single-use equipment. Our piercers guide you through jewelry options, placement considerations, and aftercare instructions. Whether you're getting your first piercing or adding to an existing collection, we prioritize safety and precision.

How we work

From initial idea to healed tattoo, here's what to expect.

1

Initial consultation

Every project starts with a conversation. You'll meet with an artist to discuss your ideas, reference images, preferred placement, and any concerns. This helps us understand your vision and allows the artist to offer guidance on what will work well as a tattoo.

2

Design and refinement

Based on your consultation, the artist creates a custom design. You'll have the opportunity to review the artwork and request changes before your appointment. We continue refining until you're satisfied with every detail.

3

Appointment preparation

Once the design is finalized, we schedule your tattoo session. We'll provide guidance on how to prepare—getting rest, staying hydrated, and eating beforehand. On the day, we set up a clean workspace and walk you through what to expect during the session.

4

The tattoo session

During your appointment, the artist transfers the design to your skin for final placement approval, then begins the tattooing process. We work at a pace that balances precision with your comfort, taking breaks as needed for longer sessions.

5

Aftercare guidance

After your tattoo is complete, we provide detailed aftercare instructions to support proper healing. We're available to answer questions during the healing process and schedule touch-up appointments if needed once your skin has fully recovered.

Good to know

How do I know which tattoo style is right for me?

During your consultation, we'll look at reference images together and discuss what appeals to you visually. Our artists can explain how different styles age, how they work on various body areas, and which approaches might suit your concept.

Can any tattoo be covered up?

Most tattoos can be covered or reworked, though the approach depends on the original piece. Darker, more saturated tattoos may require larger cover designs or specific techniques. We assess each situation individually during a consultation.

How long does a custom tattoo take to complete?

Session length varies widely based on size, detail, and placement. A small piece might take an hour, while larger work could require multiple sessions over several weeks. We'll provide time estimates once we've discussed your specific project.

Do I need to bring my own design?

Not at all. Some clients arrive with finished artwork, others bring rough sketches or reference images, and some come with just an idea. Our artists are experienced at developing concepts from any starting point through our design development process.

How should I care for a new piercing?

After your piercing, we provide written aftercare instructions covering cleaning routines, what to avoid, and signs to watch for during healing. Healing times vary by piercing location, and we're available for follow-up questions if anything concerns you.
